Art

Art is an integral part of every child's learning experience at Westtown School. Art classes for children in prekindergarten through second grade meet in groupings of 7 - 9 students. This low student-teacher ratio provides the opportunity for healthy exchanges and active participation. In grades 3 through 5 students meet as a whole class twice a week for an hour of activity. The extended time gives students the chance to more deeply develop skills and independence. A full range of media is approached each year providing students with cyclical experiences in design, collage, sculpture, ceramics, printing, painting and drawing.

Lower School Art Show

Each year Lower School students create wonderful works of art. During the month of February we have an art show. Every prekindergarten through first grade student will have at least one piece of work displayed in the Lower School lobby. The Arts Center gallery will host the art works of second through fifth graders. All families are invited to come and enjoy seeing the art that Lower Schoolers have made in their art classes.
