Sonia Sanchez—poet, activist, scholar—was the Laura Carnell Professor of English and Women’s Studies at Temple University.One of the most important writers of the Black Arts Movement, Sanchez is the author of sixteen books.

  John Langdon
  As both an artist and a graphic designer, John Langdon specializes in the visual presentation of words. He is the author of Wordplay, and he is known through his association with Dan Brown, author of The DaVinci Code. John Langdon's Shoemaker lecture is in conjunction with a display of his artwork in the Westtown Gallery.
