Upper School Religion Teacher: Westtown School is seeking a full-time Upper School Bible, World Religions, and general Religious Studies teacher for the 2013-14 school year. Responsibilities also include dormitory parenting and coaching.
 
Westtown Summer Science Institute Director: Westtown School has an immediate opening for a part-time (50%) Westtown Summer Science Institute Director. With a newly renovated and expanded Science Center opening January of 2014, Westtown will launch a research intensive summer institute for middle and high school students in June of 2014. The founding Director will oversee all aspects of the creation and running of the program. Responsibilities include envisioning and developing the program, finances, marketing, recruitment of students, hiring faculty, creating partnerships with local industry and universities, fundraising for scholarships, and managing the residential and day program. The position is intended to expand, creating additional science programming for adults and youth throughout the year. Send cover letter and resume to L. Learning Resource Center Director
: Westtown School invites applications for a full-time Director of its US Learning Resource Center for 2013-14. Responsibilities include oversight and effective operation of the LRC; interpreting Psycho-Educational testing reports and making recommendations to Admissions; monitoring and addressing problems that interfere with students’ learning and summarizing student profiles; implementing academic plans, developing learning and teaching resources, and coordinating testing and tutoring services; and communicating with colleagues and parents. The Director teaches two sections of “Step Up” classes, a program that supports students with learning differences in the areas of reading, writing, problem-solving, time management, and developing effective study skills and learning strategies. The Director also supervises an administrative assistant in the LRC.

Director of the Annual Fund: Westtown School has an immediate opening for a 12 month, full-time Director of the Annual Fund. This position reports directly to the Director of Advancement and has primary responsibility for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive Annual Fund program with a constituency of approximately 10,000 alumni, parents, and friends. The Director manages a team of two and shares oversight of an Advancement Assistant. The Director leads the Westtown Fund Leadership Committee and Parent Fund, and is responsible for the cultivation and solicitation of numerous prospects, oversees class reunion gifts and the class connector program. The Westtown Fund (Annual Fund) currently is about $1.2 million annually with 28% overall participation. The School seeks an experienced fundraiser to take the Westtown Fund to a new level in dollars and percent participation. The Director will have prior experience in a Development Office, advanced MS Office skills and advanced experience with relational databases (knowledge of Raiser's Edge). Physical Plant Person: Westtown School has an immediate opening for a FT, 12 month, Physical Plant Person. Responsibilities also require an on-call shift rotation for weekends or evenings for emergency or urgent requests. This general mechanic performs installation, maintenance, repair and upkeep of plumbing systems, electrical systems and heating/cooling systems. Certification in HVAC, Sewer Plant, Water System, or Pool Certification preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in the care and maintenance of facilities required. Full-time Interim US/MS Librarian: Westtown School is seeking a full-time, temporary sabbatical replacement US/MS Librarian to work 40 hours per week (including one evening per week) from Sept. 3 - Oct. 25, 2013. The Westtown Library serves 530 students, 6 - 12th, in a technology-rich environment, and houses a collection of over 32,000 volumes. Responsibilities include supervising the reference/circulation desk; teaching research skills; and assisting students and faculty with independent research. Experience working with young adults in a school library setting and facility with computers, automated systems and online searching required. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Painter: Westtown School has an immediate opening for a part-time (19 hours per week) Painter/General Maintenance person. Position includes interior and exterior painting as the primary function and general building maintenance and pressure washing as needed.
