Dear Friends,
After a long summer, it has been a huge thrill finally to see your children engaging in classes, gathering at Meeting for Worship, signing up for clubs and co-curriculars, and greeting the new school year with positivity and cheer. I certainly hope that under the circumstances, the school year has gotten off to a great start for you. Now that we are up and running, I am writing as promised to introduce a new way of checking in with Westtown parents and guardians. Please click here to participate in our first Weekly Joys & Concerns "Flash Survey."
Here's some more information:
- Every Tuesday morning (Westtown time), you will receive a new flash survey. The survey will be open until Wednesday at noon. Every Friday, we will share a summary of the results through Just the Facts.
- The purpose is to give your children's teachers and school administrators a quick overview of how things are going for them. These flash surveys are not intended to collect detailed feedback; however, we will invite you to participate in lengthier surveys from time to time this fall, starting with an in-depth survey about your Westtown Distance Learning experience on Tuesday, October 6.
- As the name suggests, each survey will only take seconds to complete. We promise to include only a few easy-to-answer questions. Each survey will conclude with an open text box where you can write more if you choose.
- Every child's experience is important to us. We hope you will complete one survey per child. If your child is supported in different households, please designate one parent/guardian to participate.
- The flash surveys will be completely anonymous. However, if you would like someone to reply to you, remember to include your name and contact information in the final text box.
I hope that you will take advantage of many other opportunities to connect this fall. We look forward to welcoming Lower School parents and guardians to Back-to-School Nights this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Upcoming "Principal's Chats" will provide a chance for Middle School parents/guardians to connect by grade level, starting today at 1 p.m. EDT. Upper School families, remember that your first Coffee and Conversation is starting in a few minutes, and you can also use T. Veda's 'Questions for the Upper School' form for inquiries as they arise. In addition, look for an invitation in early October to a drop-in Q&A Zoom call with me and the division principals later in the month. And as always, if you have a personal or time-sensitive question, please reach out directly to me or to your child's division principal, dean, or teacher.
Friends, thank you for taking a few seconds to let us know how you're doing each week. And thank you for your partnership.
Yours,
