Affinity Groups

An affinity group is a space where people can meet based on an aspect of their identity or interest. It allows for members of that group to share common experiences with those who also identify with that same identity. It allows for people to feel seen and heard and can help when their identity group is in the minority in the larger organization. After participating in an affinity group many are able to have greater empathy and understanding for the experiences of those outside their affinity group. Affinity groups help give individuals the capacity to build bridges and across groups and foster more meaningful cross cultural dialogue and relationships.
