In Tuesday's close, hard fought loss to AFS, had 6 K's, a single and a 2-run RBI home run. At Shipley, had 6 K's and scored two runs of the 8 scored. Leads by example. Her at-bats rally the offense and consistently a threat at the plate to opponents.
Abbie Barth- Girls' Lacrosse
Scored 4 goals in team win vs. Perkiomen. 8+ draw controls in second half. Aggressive player.
Julian Tien- Boys' Tennis
Great role model for his team as a senior captain. Has not lost a set in his last 4 matches.
Week of April 9
Maya Torpey- Golf
On Wednesday vs. Shipley, in tough weather conditions with gusts as high as 50 mph, Maya was a medalist, shooting an amazing 3-over 38, 8 strokes better than the next lowest score. It stands as one of the greatest single round performances in Westtown golf history.
Pat Culcasi- Baseball
Team record 2-0 on the week, outscoring opponents 22-0. At the plate went 3-6 with 2 runs scored, 4 RBI's, 1 double, and 1 triple. Threw 3 shutout innings for the win vs. ANC, allowing 1 hit and striking out 7.
Week of April 2
Jon Moldoff- Baseball
Pitched the season opener vs. EA and brought home the win with 2 earned runs over 4 innings pitched. Jon also went 5 for 7 at the plate in the first two games of the season.
Suraj Sharma- Boys' Lacrosse
Has given an UNBELIEVABLE EFFORT throughout the first month of the season. His effort in practice and his dedication to the team has set the tone for the year.
Week of February 5
Emma Diaz- Girls Varsity Basketball
Scored 15 points in win vs. Peddie. 4 for 4 from the free throw line down the stretch.
Paxton Angell- Swimming
Started the season never competing in HS swim until this year and has continued to drop every week. Won the 50 freestyle race at the Shipley week. A wonderful development of skill and confidence.
Week of January 29
Cruz Buitron- Varsity Swimming
Has had an excellent swim season so far! His leadership in the water has been unmatched. He has broken NEW Westtown Pool Records- 1:59.59 free and 58.08 fly. Set NEW Friends Central pool Records- 1:59.12 200 IM, which was a new FSL record and 53.33 100 fly.

Week of January 22
Halle Brown- Varsity Girls Basketball
14 points, 4 assists, only one turnover. 3 three-pointers (2 in 2 consecutive possessions) in the 3rd quarter that helped Westtown girls DEFEAT rival Shipley for the first time in program history!
Alec Butler-Roberts- Wrestling
Went 5-0 at the Denver Duals against some of the toughest public school teams in the state.
Alanna Rogers- JV Girls Basketball
Always shows her commitment to improving her game and has grown immensely as a player. Recently became a starter and went from 0 rebounds per game to averaging 10 in last two. Scored her first points vs. Shipley and pulled potential jump balls from opponents twice her size. Constantly displays a positive attitude in both games and practice.
Week of January 15
Amaya Douglas- Varsity Girls Basketball
In their 3 wins last week, Amaya stepped up as one of only 4 forwards. (vs. ANC- 13 pts., 7 rebounds...vs. GFS- 10 pts., 5 rebounds...vs. DOCK MENNONITE- 17 pts., 10 rebounds, 5 assists)
Alex Taylor- Varsity Wrestling
Finished 1st at the Church Farm Tournament (15 teams, mostly public schools). He earned pins in all three of his matches each at about 30 seconds.
Jonathan Kornegay- Swimming
He came to as many practices over break and snow days when possible. When he wasn't able to attend, asked the coach to write a practice for him to do by himself at his local YMCA. During their meet on the 9th, he attained all best times! His HARD WORK shows and certainly paid off!
Week of January 8
Mathias Zawoiski- JV Boys Basketball
Scored 21 of the 43 points in win vs. Abington Friends School. Went 5 of 6 from the line. Lead the team in rebounding and easily had a double double, helping out immensely on both defense and especially on the offensive glass. Exemplifies hard work and improves everyday in practice.
JoJo Lacey- Varsity Girls Basketball
16 pts., 8 rebounds vs. big program win vs. Hill School. 15 pts., 10 rebounds, 3 blocks vs. 2 pt. loss to defending FSL Champs Abington Friends School.
Week of December 11
Cam Reddish- Varsity Boys Basketball
Scored 25, 34 and 53 points in the week when the team went 2-1. He broke the one game scoring record and also the 3 point record with 8 on Sunday in a win vs. Holy Spirit (GA). Scored his 1,000th point Dec. 2nd vs. Hun School.
JoJo Lacey- Varsity Girls Basketball
In a comeback win vs. Nazareth Academy on Friday night, led the team with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals.
Carter Dear- Wrestling
Finished 2nd at the SCHA Wrestling Tournament. Carter chose to wrestle up a weight class at 220 instead of receiving the automatic 1st place from forfeits in his normal weight class.
Week of December 4
Jalen Gaffney- Varsity Boys Basketball
Averaged 22 points over 3 games when the team went 2-1. Scored 30 points vs. Hun School and had 21 points and 9 assists against Our Savior Lutheran.
Matt Rhile- Wrestling
FIRST PLACE at a very tough, 16 team, GA Tournament. Matt finished 4-0 in his weight distribution.
Week of October 23
Nick Hanchak- Cross Country
Had an incredible kick in the last quarter mile to earn a medal at the FSL Championship at Belmont with a time of 18:12, the 10th fastest in the FSL.
Alex Reichard- Boys Varsity Soccer
Team's top defender this season. Consistently displays extraordinary hustle and commitment.
Dewi Henry- Varsity Field Hockey
Had a hat trick in win over GFS that allowed the team to clinch a playoff spot in the FSL Semi-Finals. Had one goal and two assists in a tough fought senior game vs. Shipley.
Week of October 16
Sabrina Shoeborn- Varsity Field Hockey
Brick wall in the goal cage as starting GK.
6 shut-outs on the year.
Vocal voice on the field.
Tanner Cogswell- Varsity Soccer
SOLID defender all year!
Scored first goal of season vs. FSS.
Played an important role in the team's 4-3 win Saturday vs. West Nottingham.
Em Coe- Varsity Girls Soccer
Had 7 goals and 2 assists in 3 games, helping the team to two critical league wins.
Week of October 9
Andy Chen- JV Boys Soccer
One of the best and fiercest competitors, never giving up.
With less than 30 seconds left in JV tournament game, hit top corner shot from 30 yards out. Put team up 1-0 and solidified a spot in the championship game. Always a great attitude and works hard!
Matt Dolente- Boys Varsity Soccer
Scored three goals last week including one goal vs. MFS and 2 goals vs. ANC in two league wins.
Abbie Barth- Field Hockey
Currently 2nd leading scorer and plays each game with tremendous tenacity and heart.
Scored 38 seconds into OVERTIME to lift the field hockey team 2-1 against George School for another league win.
Lindsey Turner- Girls Cross Country
Has earned a PR in each race she has run this season, this last time beating her prior PR by 41 seconds with a time of 22:38 as only a freshman. Her first race three weeks ago was 26:09, which shows how fast she is improving.
Week of October 2
Dorian Brotschul- Soccer
Played extremely well the last two games as a defensive back, making several goal-saving stops vs. CFS and vs. George. He practices hard and has shown great growth defensively and goes 100% from start whistle to end.
Lili Fernandez & Isabelle Perez- Girls JV Tennis
Not only do they have an undefeated record -- #1 doubles for JV girls tennis,
but they pulled out a great win vs. SCH to help the team win 3-2 last week.
Week of September 25
Julia Castillo- Varsity Field Hockey
Helped team pull off huge upset over St. Andrews. Shut down their offense with great defensive saves and heroic plays. Gorgeous deflection for a goal to put team ahead 2-0 in the first half.
Sara Oswald- Varsity Girls' Soccer
Scored a hat trick in the first half of their game against The Christian Academy. The 6-1 win led the team to an overall record of 3-1-1 to start the season.
Week of September 18
Sophie Yager- Varsity Tennis
Singles player on girls varsity tennis.
She won a tight match against the Hill School and came back from 7-1 down to win her match in the FSL tournament.
Ethan McLear- Boys XC
Finished 9th out of 168 runners at the prestigious George School Invitational.
His time was a lifetime best.
Catapulted team to a 6th place finish out of 19 with a 17.22.
Player of the Week
