Opening Doors: Expanding Access and Opportunity for Students

Westtown is committed to making its exceptional education accessible to all students, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. By expanding our financial aid endowment and The Kaesemeyer Full Access program, we aim to create a more inclusive community, providing vital support for students in need and ensuring they can fully engage in the Westtown experience—both inside and outside the classroom.

Westtown School is deeply committed to making our program financially feasible for families and to attracting talented, well-qualified students, regardless of their families’ economic circumstances. To this end, each year we provide more than $11 million in merit and need-based financial aid. This commitment to financial aid is grounded in our beliefs in equity and that those who desire a Westtown education should be able to access it, regardless of their financial situation. Therefore, we continue our work to become a need-blind institution as called for in our Strategic Vision. While this may seem to be a bold aspiration—and it is— it is an intentional and important step toward creating the community we know we should be.

The Kaesemeyer Full Access Fund provides financial support to under-resourced students in Primary Circle through 12th grade. Each year more than 90 families receive grants intended to enable their children to participate more fully in the programs and activities of the school that are not covered by tuition, from sports equipment and clothing, to instrument lessons, test prep, travel opportunities, and more.

Donors who designate their support to create an endowed fund demonstrate a commitment to the present and future of Westtown. Gifts placed in an endowed fund are invested with the total endowment and the earnings of these funds are used for many areas of the school’s operation including financial aid, professional and program development. The Westtown endowment currently consists of more than 100 individual endowed funds totaling more than $126 million.
