Emily Temple Abels ’07

Emily is an attorney at Larmore Scarlett, LLP. She has a B.A. from Haverford College, and a J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School, Boulder. Emily serves on the boards of Haverford College and the Friends Committee on National Legislation. Emily lives with her wife and son in Kennett Square, PA.

Karabi Acharya ’82

Buildings and Grounds and Environment, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access

Karabi is the Senior Director of Global Learning at The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She has a B.A. in Anthropology from The University of Chicago, a Master of Health Science and a Doctor of Science/International Health from Johns Hopkins University, School of Hygiene and Public Health. She is also the founder of Conquering Gyrate Atrophy, a non-profit focused on finding a cure for this retinal disease. Karabi and her husband, Malay, are the parents of Keya ’16 and Priyanka ’23.

Martha B. Bryans ’68

Serving on Westtown’s Board is a return to the school for Martha: not only was she previously a member of the General Committee (1977-81), from 1981 to 1997, she was Major Gift Coordinator, and then, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs, and Acting Head of School for 6 months in 1996. Most recently, Martha was Head of Friends School Haverford. Martha’s two children are Westtown classes of ’92 and ’94.

Beah Burger-Lenehan ’02

Beah is Director of Product at DuckDuckGo, a privacy company known for its search engine that doesn’t track you. She is a member of Westtown’s Class of 2002 and a graduate of Haverford College (2006). After Haverford, she moved to San Francisco where she began her career in tech at Google. Beah now lives in Glen Mills with her husband, Dan, and daughter, Willa.

Francisco Burgos

Francisco is the Executive Director of Pendle Hill. He has a B.S. in Clinical Psychology from The National University Pedro Henriquez Ureña, a M.A. in Sustainable Development from The School for International Training, and a Ph.D. in Education from The Universidad de La Salle. Francisco and his wife, Rene, are the parents of Sofia ’25 and Jamila ’27.

Luis “Lu” Castillo ’80

Finance, Personnel Policy Advisory

Lu is the Managing Director for Corporate Development at Cquence Health Group. After graduating from Westtown in 1980, he attended Haverford College. Lu and his family are members of Birmingham Friends Monthly Meeting. Lu and his wife, Wendi, are parents of Julia, a member of Westtown’s Class of 2019, and son Jacob, who graduated in 2016 from Delaware Valley Friends School.

Diana Evans ’95

Finance, Audit Risk Management

Diana is the Chief Marketing Officer for Centerplate, and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Sodexo’s North America Sports & Leisure division, where she oversees corporate marketing, select business development initiatives, and public relations. Her professional experience includes nearly a decade in communications and external relations roles at Bryn Mawr College and Princeton University; she also spent 5 years as a branding and marketing consultant for consumer goods businesses at an agency and incubator. Diana earned a BA at Smith College and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.

Will Hildreth ’81

Farmland Task Force, Advancement

Will has a B.A. from Emerson College and a Master of Arts from The University of Southern California School of Cinema. He is on the boards of The Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse of Provincetown and The Daniel W. Dietrich II Foundation. Will has served many nonprofit organizations, and he received a commendation from the Mayor of Los Angeles for his service to the LGTBQ community. Will lives on Cape Cod with his husband.

Gary Holloway, Jr.

Gary is the President of GMH Capital Partners. He served as an at large member of Westtown’s Advancement Committee and has been a longstanding and committed organizer of the Golf and Tennis Outing prior to joining the Board in 2013. Gary is a current Board member of the Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia. He also has served on the Malvern Prep board. Gary’s children are Westtown Classes of 2019 and 2022.

Ann Hutton

Ann is a psychotherapist, retired from a longtime private practice. She is currently very involved in the management of her family’s company, Star Roses and Plants/Conard-Pyle. As an undergraduate, Ann attended Earlham College, then earned her MSS in Clinical Psychology at Bryn Mawr College. Ann is an active volunteer serving on the board of the Friends Association for the Care and Protection of Children and the President’s Council for the Natural Lands Trusts. She also serves as the chair of Grants Committee of the Chester County Community Foundation. Ann is a member of London Grove Friends Meeting. Ann and her husband, Steve, are parents of Ian, a 2008 Westtown graduate.

Sanjay Jain

After a 26-year career, Sanjay recently retired from JP Morgan where he was the Managing Director of Technology and Banking. He divided his time between London, San Francisco, and New York City. He is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at Hyperloop Transportation Technologies in San Francisco. Sanjay is a former trustee of the Bay Area Discovery Museum, and served as Chairman of the Board. He and his wife, Heather, have a daughter, Maya, who attends San Francisco Friends School, and a son, Logan, who is Class of 2022 at Westtown. Sanjay and his family live in San Francisco, CA.

Gary Linnen ’96

Gary is the Chief Executive Officer at PeerForward, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of low-income youth by connecting them to colleges and careers. Gary has a B.A. from Cornell University and a Youth Facilitator Certification from Harvard University Summer Institute. He lives in Manhattan and serves on many boards, including One Hundred Black Men of New York, Brothers@ and The Tenth Magazine. Gary also advises the New York City Department of Education.

Jess Lord ’90

Jess has served as Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Haverford College since 2005. Prior to that he worked in admissions at Pomona College. Jess is a graduate of Brown University. Jess served as an at-large member of Westtown’s Admissions & Marketing Committee prior to joining the Board.

Rob McLear

Rob is the founder and director of PetRad, a veterinary radiology company. Rob attended the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences, and went on to earn his VMD at University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed specialty training in radiology at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Rob served as the Examination Director of the American College of Veterinary Radiology, and was Treasurer of the ACVR from 2004-2015. He has also served on working groups of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Rob and his wife, Claire, have three children at Westtown: Ethan ’18, Evelyn ’20, and Quinlan ’26.

Buxton Midyette ’83

Buxton is the Vice President of Marketing at Supima Cotton. He has a B.A. from The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, a M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a M.B.A. from The Wharton School of Business. Buxton is a member of the 15th Street Meeting and serves on the board of Friends Seminary in New York City. Buxton lives in Manhattan with his wife Lisa and their daughters, including Byerly ’24.

Elizabeth Gilbert Osterman ’73

Advancement, Executive, Finance, Investment

Liz recently retired as an Associate Director and Deputy Chief Counsel in the Division of Investment Management of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She previously held a number of positions in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, including: Assistant Chief Counsel; Assistant Director, Office of Enforcement Liaison; and Assistant Director, Office of Investment Company Regulation. Before joining the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Liz was an associate in a corporate law practice in Baltimore, Maryland. Her children attended Sandy Spring Friends School and she is a member of Sandy Spring Friends Meeting. She and her husband, Richard, reside in Ashton, MD.

Anne Roche

Anne has been an active volunteer at Westtown since 2001, most recently helping to establish PAL, a group that plans social events for parents of alumni. A stay-at-home-mom, Anne was also active in her children’s schools – Baldwin, Haverford School, and Friends School of Haverford, where she was the Open House coordinator and auction committee member. Anne attended Villanova where she earned a degree in modern language and earned her MA in literature from New York University. Her interest in books also influences her volunteer activities: she was a member of the “One Book, One Philadelphia” committee at The Free Library of Philadelphia, and is currently a co-chair of a monthly book club in New York City. Anne’s husband, Robert, is a former board member, and all of their children are Westtown alumni: Megan Roche Palmer ’06, Robert P. Roche ’08, and Stephen G. Roche ’10.

Kevin Roose ’05

Admissions and Marketing

Kevin is a technology columnist for The New York Times and a contributing writer to The New York Times Magazine He is the bestselling author of two books: Young Money: Inside the Hidden World of Wall Street’s Post-Crash Recruits and The Unlikely Discipline: A Sinner’s Semester at America’s Holiest University. He is a 2009 graduate of Brown University, where he received a BA with a concentration in English Literature. Kevin graduated from Westtown in 2005.

Daryl Shore ’99

Daryl is the Managing Director of Structured Finance at National Equity Fund, Inc., a nonprofit affordable housing investor. Daryl has a BA in Political Science with a minor in Economics from Emory University, an MBA in Finance from Clark University Atlanta, and an MS in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University. Daryl is also active as a Board member in several civic and nonprofit organizations: Westtown School, Gesu School, Friends of Yemin Orde, and Harlem Grown.

Mike Sicoli ’88

Finance, Head Advisory and Evaluation

Mike is the Founder of MTS Advisors, providing consulting and advisory services to corporate, private equity, and hedge fund clients, specifically in the areas of diligence, business development, strategic planning, raising capital and operations improvement. Mike volunteers for the United Way Worldwide and serves on the Audit Committee. He also enjoys baseball and is a Little League coach. Mike was a “lifer” at Westtown, then went on to attend the College of William & Mary, earning a BA in economics, and the University of Virginia, Darden Graduate School of Business where he earned an MBA.

Jennifer Simpson

Advancement

Jennifer and her husband, Scott, are the owners of Forge Hill Farms, a CSA with the aim of providing vocational skills for young adults who have neurodevelopmental disorders. Jennifer has a B.A. from Boston University, a M.S.W. from Columbia University, a M.E.S. from The University of Pennsylvania, and has done social work in the Philadelphia area. Jennifer and Scott are the parents of Liam ’28 and Claudia ’30.

Charlene Thomas ’86

Charlene is the Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer at UPS. She has a B.A. from Temple University and a M.B.A. from Eastern University. Charlene also serves on the board of The National Urban League. She lives in Atlanta with her husband.

Danielle Toaltoan ’03

Danielle graduated from Westtown in 2003. She attended Swarthmore College and went on to earn her JD from Columbia Law School where she served as Editor-in-Chief for Columbia Law School’s Journal of Gender & Law. She is an associate with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP where she specializes in intellectual property litigation. She is also a past member of the Swarthmore Board of Managers, and was active in community organizing through Americorps. Danielle is engaged to Leslie Theophile.

Ryan Tookes ’96

Ryan currently serves as the Director of Lending for Your Banc Advisors, a commercial lending brokerage firm. Tookes also serves as the managing member of Tookes Strategic Group, a company focused on traditional consulting as well as essential service guidance for residential and business customers. Tookes is a graduate of Wesleyan University and holds both a Masters and Juris Doctor from Rutgers University. Ryan and his wife, Natasha, have two children at Westtown: Ryan ’24 and Ryder ’27.

Charlotte Triefus

Buildings and Grounds and Environment, Admissions and Marketing

Charlotte graduated from the University of Maryland and received a master’s degree in Media Ecology from New York University. She was the Principal of Design Pavilion, a firm that represented UK fashion designers. Subsequently she developed the Hands-On volunteer program at United Jewish Appeal Federation in New York. She is a Board Member for Pure Earth, a not-for-profit that identifies and remediates toxic pollution in the developing world. She is also Co-Chair of its 10 Million Lives Campaign. Charlotte and her husband, Lloyd Zuckerberg, are the parents of Hannah Zuckerberg ’16, Henry Zuckerberg ’17 and Toby Zuckerberg ’21.

Don Wildman ’79

Advancement

Don is a television host and producer. He has been the on-camera personality for multiple shows on The Travel Channel, The Discovery Channel and The History Channel. Don attended Earlham College and has a Certificate of Acting Training from the Drama Studio of London. Don works with the New York public school system to teach history and civics. Don lives in New York with his wife Melissa.

Max Yeh ’87

Max graduated from Princeton University in 1991 with a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering and a concentration in Polymer Science. He is the Vice President of Sales and Services for Evonik Japan Co., Ltd. where he leads the North Asia sales, technical service and customer service teams of Evonik Nutrition & Care, Health Care Business Line. Max is active in Princeton University Alumni Association of San Francisco, a Princeton University Alumni Interviewer, a Princeton University Mentor and a member of the Princeton University Race Relations Prize Committee. Max graduated from Westtown in 1987.
