A note from our Head of School:
One of the joys of my job is the privilege of bearing witness, every day, to the wonder that is Westtown School. I watch giggling four-year-olds roll down grassy slopes in the shadow of a dormitory where teenagers form lifelong friendships with peers whose homes and families are half a world away. I watch our youngest children learn to read their first words and our oldest vigorously pursue sophisticated intellectual passions. I watch our adults dedicate their lives to our students, helping them learn to live together in an intentional community, listening for the still small voice in themselves, seeking the Light in each other, and knowing they all belong here at Westtown.
None of this beautiful experiment is possible without the profound generosity of our donors, whose many gifts provide us with the financial capacity to offer this astonishing Westtown education.

Are you ready to make a gift to Westtown School, but aren’t sure about how to make your gift? The most popular payment methods for donors are to give by check via the mail or by credit card/mobile wallet via the Westtown Fund Online Giving Form. There are also many other ways to make a gift, including by donor-advised fund (DAF), stocks, bonds, securities, bank wire transfer, IRA charitable distribution, the Pennsylvania Tax Credit Program, planned gifts, and cryptocurrency. Your support of Westtown can take many forms: from donating your financial resources, to volunteering your time and talents, to engaging in the Westtown community. The most essential and flexible annual source of philanthropic support at the school comes from community members who donate to the Westtown Fund. Gifts to this fund are used during the current school year to bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of a Westtown education, sustaining the people, programs, and places that make this experience transformative. In addition to the Westtown Fund, the school has more than 100 endowed funds and special project funds that have been established to enhance specific program offerings, expand access and opportunity, invest in our talented faculty, and create spaces that foster learning and community. Gifts to endowed funds are invested and the funds grow over time, supporting Westtown now and for future generations, whereas gifts to non-endowed special project funds are put to immediate use on current needs such as capital projects. Your philanthropy directly supports educational innovation, new student experiences, our commitment to equity, justice, belonging, and community programs, investment in our faculty and staff, and our ability to serve as environmentally thoughtful stewards of our campus. Gifts of all sizes support financial aid, campus maintenance and improvements, programs in all three divisions, professional development capital projects, and our endowment.

In October 2024, Westtown School announced our historic and ambitious comprehensive campaign, Lighting the Way. With a goal to raise $62 million for Westtown School, this campaign is a bold vision to strengthen the very core of the Westtown experience. Our goal is to empower students to develop their intellect, ignite their passions, and engage with the world as conscientious stewards and changemakers. We seek to create spaces, programs, and opportunities that inspire inquiry, deepen connections, and foster a sense of belonging. To realize this vision, Lighting the Way focuses on four transformative priorities: The Center for the Living Arts, Transforming the Westtown Dining Experience, Expanding Access and Opportunity for Students, and Investing in Westtown’s Educators and Programs.
