OBJECTIVE: After outlining your portrait, use your eraser to remove the grid. Complete your self-portrait using a range of values from our value scales and shading techniques from our form studies.

OBJECTIVE: In this introductory unit, students will take a self-portrait they will then combine with at least one additional image. In combining their self portrait with another image, students will begin to explore photoshop and establish fundamental skills while developing their artistic voice.

Students researched art portraits related to their background or experience, considering their relationship to the portrait and its context within art history.

Considering props, costumes, makeup, and lighting, students paired up to recreate their selected portraits with partners.

Students brought their portraits into photoshop to further manipulate and finalize.
